Upcoming Webinars

  • Addressing Vaccine Hesitancy: Lessons from Motivational Interviewing

    Tuesday, May 21, 9am - 10am

Carrie Bader, Boost Oregon’s Training Director and Motivational Interviewing (MI) trainer, and Ryan Hassan, Boost Oregon’s Medical Director and a practicing pediatrician, will discuss the use of MI in addressing vaccine hesitancy. We will review critical concepts needed to use MI successfully, as well as specific MI-adherent questions, responses, and prompts that providers can use to have collaborative discussions that build vaccine confidence.

  • Motivational Interviewing Learning Group: The Language of Change

    Wednesday, June 26, 10am - 11am

Carrie Bader, Boost Oregon’s Training Director and Motivational Interviewing (MI) trainer, will offer a learning group focusing on the “language of change.” What are our clients saying when they are thinking about a decision, and how can we best respond? What do we say when someone questions our knowledge and intentions, and how can we respond when we hear ambivalence and hesitation? We will explore ways in which to classify client language and how to handle even highly challenging situations using MI concepts.

  • BIPOC Communities and Vaccine Hesitancy

    Tuesday, July 23, 11:30am - 12:30pm

Boost Oregon’s Diversity Outreach Director, Ari O’Donovan, will provide an overview of factors that contribute to vaccine hesitancy in BIPOC communities, including historical trauma, past governmental public health failures, and systemic racism. She will share practical guidance on addressing vaccines with BIPOC community members in ways that are collaborative, respectful, and effective.
